出血点指压止血法是用手指压迫血管上端，压闭血管，阻断血流而达到止血的方法，适用于头部和四肢的大出血。指压止血的压迫点就是止血点。一般应压迫在出血伤口动脉的近心端（即靠近心脏的那一端）。压迫时最好能触及动脉搏动处，并将血管压迫到附近的骨骼上，这样止血效果才会更佳。
